Bookflix is a progressive teaching sequence of specific skills that teaches the children how to read for meaning.
The comprehension skill set is built upon from EYFS to Year 6 progressively; allowing the children to become confident, able readers and giving them a reading tool kit that'll take them from Ridgeway Primary School, to secondary school and beyond.
Bookflix runs alongside our phonics scheme, Supersonic Phonics Friends, meaning we ensure we teach the children how to decode text whilst simultaneously teaching them to find meaning across varying genres.
It allows children to make links across texts, understand new vocabulary, make links from the text to their own lives and the wider world, to ask questions and to discuss all of their ideas with their peers.
